Da Ongchhu is coming

Da Ongchhu Sherpa will be arriving in Lowville Thursday evening. The plan is for him to come with me to my office and spend Friday morning there. TV interview with Mr. Brian Ashley for Friday afternoon is in the planning stage. Saturday morning a bicycle ride with Chris Brock of Watertown Daily Times. Then off to the Adirondack High Peaks for the day. Sunday morning an interview with staff reporter Amanda Thomson-Tangalin. Then a quick trip to Alexandria Bay and Uncle Sam Boat Tour of the 1000 Islands. Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. a "meet and greet" in his honor at the Lowville Free Library. Light snacks will be served. Everyone is invited. Please come and meet a legendary Sherpa from the Khumbhu Valley. Bring your camera for a photo with him. Da Ongchhu is 35 years old with a 24-year-old wife and 5-year-old daughter. If you feel like bringing to him a small memento/souvenir of Lowville/Lewis County/Northern NY to take back to his home in Nepal to his wife/daughter to remember you by, I am sure he will be very appreciative of the gesture. My wife Sheree and my daughter Shamaa join me in extending you a very warm welcome to take part in this joyous moment of Da Ongchhu's life.
